The Conference Group, on behalf of the Mercian Collaboration, are pleased to announce the first Mercian Collaboration Conference 'In Libraries We Trust', will be held at The Venue, De Montfort University on Tuesday 12th September 2017.  This day-long conference represents the first-time staff from across the Mercian Collaboration will have gathered for such largescale exchange of learning and experiences. It is hoped that the 2017 conference will form the template for future, annual Mercian Conferences.

The Venue, DMU

Conference Theme

Libraries and their staff are often seen as trusted partners with our institutions, trusted to manage space, to care for and curate collections, and to support teaching, learning and research. In challenging times, how do we maintain our trusted status, and make the most of the opportunities this may provide?

Hence, staff from Mercian Collaboration libraries at all levels, are invited to present on a range of topics related to trust. Proposals can be made for short papers, workshops or facilitated discussions, centred around the conference theme of trust.  Complete and return the submission form with details of your proposed session to Jen or Chloe.  Submission deadline is 5pm, Friday 9th June

Further Information

The full programme for the conference, and keynote speaker, will be announced during the summer.  Booking will also open around this time, and with over 100 places available, this represents a key training opportunity for library staff to learn about exciting, insightful and innovative activities occurring throughout the Mercian Collaboration libraries.

Contact or Chloe Turner or Jen Brotherton with any paper submission related questions, and any member of the Conference Group for any general questions.
